No, my friends. Welcome back. Today. I want to dive into something that's been coming up over and over again in my conversations with women. And it's this persistent idea. That we still need permission to want what we want. And it's not just about permission from society. Or our families or peers, it's about the permission. We deny ourselves. So I had an eye opening moment with a client recently where she asked me who said, I can't have both. And I couldn't help, but laugh just like I am now thinking about it. Because the only person, the only person saying no to her was her. She's the, she was the only one holding herself back from having both things. And yes, we have been shaped by generational and societal programming, but at the end of the day, we are the ones making our choices. So what struck me the most in this conversation, and what I want to focus on today is how often we mistake the vibration of power rising in us. As fear. And we recoil, we shrink and we missed the chance to expand into what's possible. But this is happening across generations. And I believe now more than ever, we need to recognize this moment for what it truly is. Right. It's not fear, it's power and it's time for us to rise and meet. So today I'm going to make a case for the ending of the recoil and fully stepping into your power. So stay with me because this is where transformation begins. So here's what I see happening. Personally with my clients and colleagues. Which means that it's also happening collectively and here are some examples of what women in my world are experiencing. And I believe that you will see yourself. In one or more of these examples. So. The first one is the discomfort of meeting your power. Is often the exact thing that keeps you from stepping into it. Most women interpret the vibration as fear because it's unfamiliar. It feels disruptive, unsteady and overwhelming. But what they're truly feeling is the expansive energy of stepping into their full potential, an invitation to rise, not retreat. This resistance shows up in countless ways. Right. You've outgrown your friendships, but the thought of leaving people behind causes you to question yourself. You recoil because you don't want to be seen as disloyal or ungrateful. Instead of acknowledging that you've evolved beyond those connections, you shrink back into the old version of yourself, staying in environments that no longer serve you. In your career, it's the same story. The frustration built. You've outgrown the roles, the routine, the paycheck, but everyone around you tells you that you should be happy. Your successful by every external measure, but inside, you know, there's something missing. And because you can't fully articulate or justify that feeling you shrink. You question your own dissatisfaction, mistaking the discomfort for fear. Instead of recognizing it as a call to step into something greater. Now sometimes the call to power comes through. Vulnerability and visibility, and maybe you're being asked to share more of yourself or to step into leadership or to be seen. But unresolved trauma from past experiences keeps you from fully expressing yourself. And instead of facing the discomfort head on you, recoil. Clinging to your old patterns of staying hidden and quiet. And perhaps most insidiously when you can't see the full path in front of you, you shrink back and uncertainty. The unknown terrifies you. And because you've spent so long in the safety of certainty, you mistake this moment of expansive possibility for fear. But that discomfort isn't fear. It's the signal that your on the edge of something powerful. The misstep comes when you recoil instead of rising to meet it. That edge, that vibration is your power asking to be embraced, not avoided. The key is learning to recognize this discomfort for what it is. Assign posts that you're about to break through the limitations of your current identity. Rising to meet it. Instead of recoiling is where transformation begins. It's the moment where you stop playing small, stop, hiding, and begin to create the life that reflects your truest. Most powerful self. Now there are countless more examples of how I see women recoiling instead of leaning into the power that is calling to be embodied. Such as. Relinquishing control in relationships. Right. You're used to holding it all together for everyone. Whether it's your partner, your children, colleagues. Carrying the emotional weight of keeping peace and harmony. And when your power asks you to relinquish control and trust others to take their take up their own slack. It feels terrifying. Like letting the walls crumble around you. You mistake this as fear of losing your identity as the strong one. But it's really your power calling you to release. To stop managing everyone's experience and create space for your own growth. Instead of leaning into that discomfort you recoil. Overfunctioning and continuing to carry the burdens that aren't yours. Another is experiencing success without a safety net. You've built a career and on paper, it looks flawless. But in truth, you've never leaped or leaped without a safety net. When your power nudges you to take a step that isn't guaranteed by others validation or a stable foundation, you feel the pole of fear? Not fear failure, but fear of no longer relying on external supports to confirm your value. Your power is asking you to bet on yourself. To stand in your success without crutches. But it feels too raw and ungrounded. So you recoil into playing safe with your known zone of genius. And what about confronting inherited beliefs about what your. Air quote, a loud. Deep in your subconscious you've absorbed family narratives about what women are allowed to want. How much ambition is acceptable, how much independence is desirable, how much visibility is appropriate is appropriate. And as you begin to crave more, more power, more money, more autonomy. Those old stories start surfacing. You mistake the tension between your desires and those inherited beliefs as fear. In truth, your power is ready to dismantle the rules. You've lived by. But you recoil because stepping outside the bounds of what your family culture or society has said that you're allowed to want feels to transgressive. And like I said, I could go on and on with examples of this mistaken fear. However, I want to limit this podcast. So all of this type of fear that we feel in current times, right? There is no saber tooth tiger chasing us anymore. So this beer, um, Is kind of a mistake in fear and author, Leah loved light, Michael refers to it as modern fear. And it's the fear of feeling or feelings. And. Let's look at this like evolution that's taking place right now. Why are so many women beginning to have these conversations? Why are they questioning? Like my client is who said they can't have what they want. And I know that being a baby boomer myself. Feeling feelings wasn't really encouraged in our household. In fact, it was strongly discouraged. And I believe this duality or dissonance around understanding the vibrational. Um, feeling that's happening in your body of power versus fear. Is all about my generation healing, her personal and collective wounds. So I did a little research. I wanted to understand like how big this might be. Because I really am hearing these conversations happening all the time in every, um, container that I'm in, whether I'm out with friends or I'm with a client or a minute mastermind, like these, this conversation keeps coming up. And so as of 2024, There are approximately 33 million. Female baby boomers. Still alive in the us alone. With tens of millions more globally. Right. But. This, um, cohort. That was born between 1946 and 1964. Has lived through dramatic societal changes. From the rise of feminism to civil rights movements, um, shifts in gender expectations. Like everything you can imagine. Happened in this generation. Now many of these women are in their sixties and seventies. Are experiencing a different kind of awakening or a power vibration. That seems to be gaining momentum. And I believe that this collective is actually awakening across all generations. Because it didn't just happen to the baby boomers. It happened to their. Children daughters and granddaughters and so on. So this isn't just limited to this massive amount of women who are trying to like healed. Themselves and the collective before they pass on, this is it's so much bigger than that. And I believe like what's happening now feels like the start of a coming together. Uh, convergence where women across all age groups are no longer siloed into separate experiences of empowerment. But. Are feeding into the collective evolution. And this generational synergy creates a feedback loop of healing and empowerment and rising energy. Where the individual's breakthroughs in one generation have a profound ripple effect on others. So here's how this interconnected. Connectedness is playing out. Right. Baby boomers are paving the way. The baby boomers who are doing the deep foundational healing of their own wounds are creating space for younger generations to heal faster. We are we because I am a baby boomer. Are taking our voices back to rewriting the script of our lives and stepping into power unapologetically. The effect. Our courage and visibility sends out ripples of permission. Two gen X, millennials, gen Z, right. Subtly telling them. It's safe to take up space. To speak up to choose yourself. Each time, a baby boomer woman reclaims her power, the collective ripple strengthens, and that energy is felt by women who are coming after her. Now. It doesn't stop there. Right? So gen X. Is holding space for boundaries and balance. Because gen X women are working through the legacy of overfunctioning. Like caring decades of silent burden while navigating careers, family, and societal expectations. And as they reclaimed their right to balance boundaries and self care, they're demonstrating to millennials and gen Z. That it's possible to have success. And still honor yourself. They're healing sends a message that striving for balance. Isn't a luxury. It's a necessity. And this work directly influences the younger generations who are already questioning the old narratives of sacrifice and burnout. Every time a gen X woman says no to overwork or steps into leadership without sacrificing herself. She reinforces that ripple, that younger women feel. And millennials. Are actively redefining what it means to have it all. They're rejecting the external metrics of success that have governed previous generations. And are realigning their lives to prioritize fulfillment, mental health, and purpose. There ripple is. Twofold. They're showing the older generations that it's never too late to pivot or redefine what success looks like. And they're giving gen Z permission to dream beyond the traditional structures. When millennials change societal norms about career, family, and ambition, they create space for both boomers and gen Z to reimagine their own paths. And then. Lastly gen Z is out there igniting boldness. With their fierce rejection of societal limitations and patriarchal. Structures. It's creating shockwaves of boldness that influence every other generation. They're unapologetic self-expression and willingness to dismantle the status quo, ripple upwards. Encouraging millennials and gen X to also break the rules they've been playing by for decades. They are embodying a fearlessness that shows baby boomers it's possible to break free at any age. That it's never too late to step into unchartered territory. And when gen Z women take bold action, whether it's in their careers, their right relationships or activism, they send waves of courage backed through the generations before them. So this ripple effect. I believe is of, um, intergenerational influence. Let's say, I believe it is actually the butterfly effect in action, right? Each small act of empowerment or healing causes a profound shift, creating momentum that reaches across eight across age lines. What one generation does no matter how subtle. Sets off a wave of influence in the others. And here's some ways that I see this, um, dynamic manifesting. Number one breaking cycles, right? When baby boomers heal wounds of silence and suppression, they break cycles that might otherwise be passed down to their daughters and granddaughters. This act of healing, doesn't just affect the individual woman. It reverberates through her family, her community, and even her workplace. Influencing how younger women experienced their own sense of power. It also. Causes, um, a passing down of wisdom. So the wisdom gained by the gen X woman, as they redefine balance. And boundaries becomes a blueprint for millennials and gen Z to follow their hard earned lessons about overfunctioning in burnout. Aren't just for themselves. They send out ripples that help younger women avoid the same traps. And. This effect, this butterfly effect or intergenerational influence. Is inspiring boldness. Gen Z's audacity to reject the old structures. Isn't just a rebellious act. It's a signal to older women that they too can be bold. The younger generations, fearlessness reminds baby boomers and gen X that it's never too late to embrace change to pivot and to embody their true selves without apology. So what makes this movement so profound is that healing and empowerment are no longer linear or isolated to one group. Each generation is influencing the others in real time, creating an environment where personal growth becomes collective evolution. When baby boomers stand up to claim their voices. They empower millennials to do the same. And when gen X sets the boundaries, it reinforces to gen Z. That they can start their careers on their terms. And when gen Z defies traditional paths, they remind us baby boomers, that reinvention is possible. At any age. So in this sense, the ripple effect isn't about, it's not just about individual healing. It's about creating a new paradigm. Where women across all generations are rising together. Each feeding off the energy of the others. And this coming together, isn't a coincidence. It's a convergence of collective wisdom, courage and healing. That's amplifying the impact of each woman's journey. So, what does this look like? For the future. This ripple effect of generational synergy is laying the foundation for future generations of women. To start from a higher plane of power. The wounds that are being healed. Now, the ones of suppression, silence, burnout, external validation. Won't have the same. Hold on. Future women. They'll be born into a world where power isn't something you shrank from, but something to be fully embodied. Where they don't have to learn so much to step into their true potential. So in summary. This butterfly effect, right? This collective power vibration is exactly like a bunch of butterflies flapping their wings. Each woman in her own way is sending ripples of empowerment, healing, and transformation across generations. Creating the momentum that's greater than the sum of its parts. It's a convergence of voices, stories, and energy that is transforming what it means to be a woman across all age groups. And we're only just beginning to see the impact. This is the Dawn of a new collective consciousness where women are rising together. Breaking old patterns and setting the stage for a world that honors their full range of power. So in case you don't know. The story of the butterfly flapping its wings and causing change in another part of the world is often referred to as the butterfly effect. And it's a concept from chaos theory in mathematics and science. And the idea was popularized by a meteorologist named Edward Lorens in the, in the sixties. Who suggested that small actions like the flap of a butterfly's wings could have far reaching an unpredictable effects on. Complex systems like weather patterns, for instance. So long story short, what he was saying is, um, the, a butterfly could flap its wings in Brazil and set up a chain reaction that ultimately causes a tornado in Texas. Right? So the metaphor of the butterfly flapping its wings is poetic, but it illustrates the deeper principles that small seemingly insignificant. actions. Can lead to massive unexpected results in interconnected systems. Right? So in this metaphor, the butterfly's wings are a symbol of a minor, almost invisible action. The resulting tornado or large event represents the ripple effects of that initial tiny action as it amplifies over time and distance. And the metaphor captures the mystery and the complexity of how systems like atmosphere or human interactions can evolve in ways that are impossible to fully predict or control. So it also. Applies beautifully. To social dynamics and human influence. In the context of generational impact or collective shifts in power. The flap of one woman's wings, her decision to step into her power, speak up or challenge the norms. Can create a ripple effect that influences not just her immediate circle, but it extends out to affect people. She's never even met. Over time. That ripple can contribute to significant social, cultural, or personal transformations on a large scale. So in generational terms. A small personal breakthrough in one woman's life might seem insignificant at first, like choosing to set a boundary or reclaim her desires or reject an outdated expectation. But that single acts and so waves of influence to other women around her and as those women act in turn. The ripple, amplifies and cascades across generations and communities. And eventually what started as a butterfly flap of a personal decision. Could contribute to major shifts in how women see themselves and their power in society affecting both present and future generations. As well as how past generations are remembered or influenced. The idea of this interconnectedness across complex systems, whether it's weather ecosystems or acumen behavior. Shows us that no action is isolated. And even the smallest moves can have a profound, far reaching consequence. The vibration that your feeling, the discomfort, the uncertainty, the pull. Isn't fear. It's your power trying to break through. Your standing at a pivotal moment and how you respond to that vibration will ripple out in ways you can't even imagine. By rising to meet it. You don't just change your own life. You become the butterfly, flapping its wings, creating shifts and transformations that reach far beyond your personal experience. Every time you choose to rise instead of recoil, you set off a chain reaction. You're not just stepping into your power. You're causing a shift in the collective. The single moment of courage or self-trust sends ripples across generations. And whether you know it or not, your actions are influencing your daughters, your friends, your colleagues, and even your mother. In a spherical and cyclical way. Your rise. Isn't just about you. It's about shifting the collective feminine energy. You are the butterfly flapping, her wings and that uneasy vibration. That's your wings fluttering building energy. It's not a warning to pull back. It's a call to lean in. The vibration is your signal that something big is about to happen. That your small action will set off a chain reaction. The tornado in Texas. That's the powerful, unpredictable transformation that you initiate both in your own life and in the world around you. You might not see the full impact right away, but your decision to rise is creating change on a scale. That's impossible to fully comprehend. As I bring this close, cause I've been talking for a while. I want to leave you with this. The discomfort you're feeling right now that vibration raising or rising in your body. It's not fear. It's your power, your potential calling you to rise. Each time you choose expansion over recoil, you are not just changing your own life. You are creating ripples that impact everyone around you across generations. You are the butterfly flapping her wings and the effects of your courage and choice to step into your power. Are far-reaching. Profound and transformational. And whether you realize it or not, every time you embrace your power, you're sending out waves of influence that touch your daughters and your colleagues. And. Even the women who came before you. So the next time you feel that vibration rising in, you remember it's not assigned to retreat. It's an invitation to lean in to trust your power and to step into the life you were meant to live. You are the change. Your ripple starts now. Thanks for listening and I will see you next week.
